Thrust Measurements - in collaboration with EPPDyL at Princeton University
 

EPPDyL thrust stand (See below) was designed to accurately measure impulse bits of pulsed plasma thrusters (PPTs) within the range of 10-4 – 10 Ns. 

Theoretically predicted to be capable of measuring low steady state thrust, as low as 20 mN.




 

Experimentally determined during each measurement:

 

   ‘instantaneous’ equilibrium position

 

    effective spring constant
