Movable Radial Probes Setup for Characterization of Near-Anode Processes in Hall Thrusters

We introduce single, double and emissive biased electrostatic probes into the plasma near the anode in order to characterize the anode sheath in the 3 kW Hall thruster. The diagnostic setup consists of a motor-driven X-Y linear positioning stage for radial and axial motion along with two manual rotating stages and one manual linear stage for fine pitch, yaw and height adjustment.
